Economist set to unseat Waiguru

A former American based Economist is set to unseat Governor Anne Waiguru, come  the  August 9 general elections .

Peter Kariuki Ireri says he has what it takes to fix the ailing county leadership given his foreign expertize.

He said his first agenda  would be to fix the collapsed health sector where presently all the public hospitals were running  without basic necessities.

“Kerugoya referral hospital has no water at the moment, no Oxygen gas required to run operating theatres and manage  inpatients requiring Oxygen while the laundly machines are also broken  leaving attendants to use bare hands to do the washing ,”he said.

Added the contender” , inpatients  have been left without food while their kin are expected to feed them and also provide water . What kind  of a hospital is this ? . It will no longer be business as usual once we come   in ,”.

Announcing his gubernatorial bid on an ANC  ticket this morning at the Roswam Hotel ,Kerugoya  this morning , Ireri also assured  all the sacked medics Waiguru had  declined to reinstate despite numerous court orders will be back on duty after August 9.

Accompanied  by the Nyeri party County Chairman Philip Githua  and  the Nairobi City County ANC Secretary Eric Mwangi , assured the locals that his administration will clean up all the messes emanating and caused by  the outgoing  leadership.

At the national  scene , Ireri said it was the party stand that William Ruto should not pick his   running mate from Mt Kenya region.

He castigated some leaders from the region for focusing  on what they were to get from certain political formations instead of the value for the regional numerical strength .

Added Ireri”even with the current Head of State coming  from the region our people remained impoverished and this is what we want to correct urgently once  voted to office  come August 9,”.

Since independence, Ireri noted  the region has produced three presidents , and two   Vice presidents  and it was only fair to allow Ruto to pick his deputy from elsewhere preferably from the ANC .

“Due to his vast knowledge in public resource management our   party leader Musalia Mudavadi fits the Deputy President’s slot and  it’s our prayer and hope that our Mt Kenya colleagues will  shelf their ambitions and let it go for the sake of national unity and equitable regional balance, “Ireri said.

Ireri said with  Mudavadi ably deputizing  Ruto , the country’s weak economy would be revived within the shortest time possible upon the swearing in of the two leaders .

The American educated economist who made his maiden media appearance  this morning  also promised to name his running mate this Friday  at a venue he will disclose later .
