Wangui Ngirici addressing her gubernatorial campaign rally at Kianyaga town yesterday
Independent Kirinyaga gubernatorial candidate Wangui Ngirici has assured the area residents she will always be available to them .
Ngirici said unlike other leaders who operated from Nairobi she would be readily available since she is a local resident.
“Having represented the county at the National Assembly as the area Woman Representative I have gained a lot of experience about the people’s needs and their aspirations , thereby being the only one suitable for the gubernatorial position ,” she said.
Speaking at the General Kassam Njogu stadium, Kianyaga market yesterday Ngirici said since she has been always in touch with the locals, she was more than ready to tackle their myriads of problems the two consecutive area county administrations had failed to.
Ngirici who criss crosses the county in a chopper during her campaigns recalled how she was involved in a massive food distribution to the needy families during the Covid - 19 pandemic while none of her competitors found it worthy to stand with the people.
She said even after the pandemic slowed down she continued to assist those families which it had badly hit at by ensuring such families had something to put on the table.
“If I have accomplishing all this with the little funds the National Government factors every finanacial year how about if I became your governor ?,” she posed .
She said she was more than ready to unseat governor Anne Waiguru whom she accused of having abandoned the very people who put her to office in 2017 .
Ngirici claimed the health care system in the county was in shambles and called on the electorate to reject Waiguru come the August 9 general elections and voter her in as the news county Chief .
“Am assuring you of my due diligence in service delivery since am your own daughter and would never let you down , more so when my office and my home will be fully open to those seeking to see me,”she said.
Waiguru is defending her seat on a UDA ticket while former area Governor is seeking for re-election on a TSP platform, Peter Kariuki Ireri on an ANC ticket as Charles Kbiru (outgoing area Senator) is running on a Jubilee ticket .
