Kirinyaga does not believe in handouts

Interior PS Karanja Kibicho (center with a white mask), dancing with  a group  of women who had gone to entertain him  moments before he opened  the new offices for the Kirinyaga West Sub-County Commissioner  at Baricho market this morning.

As the country enters the season of high level politics in three days’ time those coming to seek for votes in Kirinyaga County have been cautioned not to   come dangling carrots to the residents .

Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho  reminded such politicians not to dare bait the area voters with handouts as the residents were beyond this tact and  believe in  hard work .

Kirinyaga people are hardworking  and believe in their own sweat  and any one coming into the county imagining  residents were petty will be wasting his time ,”he warned .

The PS said it was  within the public domain that whenever elections come there are politicians who come promising heaven and earth and  using huge sums of money to influence the voting pattern in their favour.

“I want to  urge  our people to shun those kind of leaders  who only appear technically to confuse  their minds   and get elected  only to disappear until after their  term was about to end ,”he said.

The new ultra  modern office  for the Ndia East Assistant Sub- County Commissioner at Kiburu village , which   the Interior PS Karanja Kibicho opened  earlier today  and built with funds  raised  by professionals from the larger Ndia Constituency.

The PS was speaking at various stops in  Ndia East Sub- County when he inspected and opened new  offices  for  administrators working in the area  this morning .

One such office  was  for the Ndia East Sub County Assistant Commissioner , another one for  a Chief in Baricho town , Thumaita West and Gathuthini  areas .

Accompanied by  a  Secretary   at  the Interior   docket  Wilson Njega  said so far the larger Ndia has three more Divisions ,while  22 locations and 46 sub-locations in the entire County meant to bring government survives as close to Wananchi as possible have been created .

At the same time Kibicho reminded the residents that when  President Uhuru Kenyatta took over leadership the area had only 53 kilometers or roads and by today  ‘“we have  680 kilometers of   tarmacked roads which make movement  of farm produce easier to the market’’.

He urged  the residents to be wise come the general elections and vote for a leader who will be having their interests at heart and by listening to  what Uhuru was wishing .

“Under Uhuru’s leadership, our county has witnessed immense development and  as he prepares to exit am appealing to all of you to learn to listen to what he is telling us and the  direction we    have to  take as the elections approach,”Kibicho told the residents .

Added  the PS “ Just as Christians vow to  serve the  Lord  wholly heartedly  after  they get saved is how I  serve Uhuru with all the determination and dedication  of service delivery to Kenyans so that can realise his dream  and those wishing to swallow razor blades for my position were free to do so,”.
