Parties settle on Senator Kibiru for gubernatorial seat

The Narc Kenya and the Jubilee parties in Kirinyaga  County have settled on  Charles  Kibiru   to the county  Azimio  gubernatorial flag bearer.

This  follows  a lengthy meeting attended by senior party officials from both sides after a directive   by Martha Kkarua earlier this week  at the Kerugoya stadium in front of her boss Raila Odinga .

It was agreed that the senior party officials should sit down and come up with one candidate  in order to ensure the Azimio one carries the day on Tuesday next week.

Consequently the decision was announced yesterday by the  County  Jubilee party chairman Muriithi Kangara and Narc- Kenya representative Julius Ndumbi at the Abai Lodges  in Kagio town .

Kibiru and his running mate Peter Ndambiri are now working extra hard to clinch the now coveted gubernatorial seat .

Kagai  and his running mate Ndgewa Njiru have been promised other positions if the  Azimio party wins the presidential race at the national level.

This is an interesting development given the names of the narc Kenya party gubernatorial contenders and running mate is already in the ballot.

Kirinyaga County Jubilee chairman Muriithi Kangara addressing the media at the Abai Lodges,Kagio town after he brokered a deal to have the Narc _kenya gubernatorial candidate Muriithi Kagai step aside for Jubilee's Charles Kibiru to square it with Anne Wauguru of the UDA

Kagai has since said he does not want to talk about the new development given  this was his third attempt  to seek for the same seat having  started in 2013 where he was  floored  by Joseph Ndathi .

The narc Kenya fraternity has since said they could not question what their leader Martha Karua  had deemed fit .

Ndumbi said the party’s  boss having given her direction the members have to comply and wait for further instructions .

The move according to local political pundits came  all bit too late when  the UDA, Independent , the TSP and other party gubernatorial contenders were already far much ahead with the campaigns which comes tp an end this  Saturday .
