Party belongs to wananchi - Waiguru

The United Democratic Alliance Party is a mass movement   and which does not belong to any individual, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has said.

Waiguru told those hampering utopic  notions that UDA was their personal property were only day dreaming since it was the people who own it .

The governor also assured the Deputy  President William  Ruto that he was more than welcome to the County this Sunday .

She talked  to the Media at her Kagio town residence after her supporters  went round  the county  preaching peace and the need to preserve it during and  after the forthcoming  electioneering period  yesterday.

“I want to take this opportunity to urged our supporters to turn out in large numbers this Sunday and accord a warm welcome to our DP William Ruto when he attends a church service  at Raimu ACK, in Kirinyaga East Sub  County ,”she said.

The governor  told  those  spreading  fear and despondency that residents of the county to realise that locals were mature  enough to  know which political direction  to take come the general elections .

“We will  not allow anyone  to sell fear and despondency to us since we know where we are headed to  these  coming general elections , “she said.

A  section of boda  boda   riders who traversed across the county yesterday in support of Governor Anne Waiguru's peace initiative ahead of the DP William Ruto's visit to the   county this Sunday 

The  lengthy procession yesterday comprised on Boda Boda riders who were waving  placards and singing political songs in praise of  the governor .

Waiguru’s decamping from Jubilee to UDA a while ago sent jitters within the Kirinyaga County political  circles with the current local Woman  Representative Wangui  Ngirici  to start crying foul.

Wangui who is said to have invested heavily in the formation of UDA  felt betrayed by the warn reception the party accorded the defector .

She has insisted she was not tethered to a  tree like a goat and was weighing her option .

The leader was also reported  in a local daily to have  regretted why she had spent  too much on the party which had now sidelined her .

The county is in a sharp political  focus  following the entry of Waiguru into UDA ,Narc Kenya Learder  Martha Karua  and Wangui   all seeking to run for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat .
