Stop moves which make Ruto more popular- official

A senior Kanu official has urged Jubilee operatives to stop  moves which only end up making  Deputy president William Ruto more popular .

Tharaka –Nithi party chairman Peter Ndatho warned that the more the operatives continue to  apply outdated  political tactics like blocking road and removing tents the much more  political gains for Ruto.

He cited the  Sunday incident in Kieni constituency where area MP Kanini Kega , his Ndaragwa and Nyeri counterparts Jeremiah Kioni and NgunjiriWambugu respectively were within the vicinity when the DP’s convoy was stoned .

“This outdated political maneuver is only popularizing Ruto as he gets sympathy from his now Hustler Nation and the expense  of the Jubilee party and must be  stopped before the worst comes ,”he cautioned .

He also blamed the Jubilee for allegedly sidelining grass root leaders  without whom the party was like a mature tree without  the roots  hence unable  to withstand the current strong wind  brought about by the hustler wave.

The official who spoke exclusively to the Mt Kenya News on phone from his Marimanti base ,Tharaka-Nithi County earlier today also asked the Jubilee  to stop using  the Interior Department and County Governments to mobilise  people for political expediency.

“Am citing the visit to Sagana where President Uhuru Kenyatta met with Mt Kenya leaders but some were denied the opportunity since they either were   in bad books with their respective governors or County  Commissioners yet we have massive support at our levels ,”he said.

He recalled how  Kanu which he is a staunch member and supporter used the then provincial administration to subjugate democracy during the one party rule  and ended up becoming very unpopular with the people .

“Had  Kanu at the time heard the cries of its members and the people Kenya it would not have lost the 2002 general elections and I can foresee a similar scenario with Jubilee now unless the issues we are raising are addressed urgently ,”Ndatho cautioned .

Added the official “ unless County Commissioners and Governors were  kept  out from political party affairs Jubilee which Kanu is an affiliate then  is headed to a political oblivion “.

He said the DP should be left alone and allow the people to decide  by creating a level playing ground  for all the contestants  come the general elections.
