Truce changes Kirinyaga political matrix

Kirinyaga’s hitherto hostile political land scape  changed for better yesterday after ‘’General” Andrew  Ngirici publicly apologised and sought for forgiveness from the Interior PS Karanja Kibicho.

At the Kandongu cattle dip in Mwea West Sub-County Ngirichi  confessed  having been continuously insulting Kibicho  but had seen sense to stop such behavior for the good of the County.

“Bwana Kibicho , its true I have been hurling insults at you  since you were appointed to the Interior docket but after our recent meeting I have realised this has to stop to create an enabling environment for our county to develop , and in that regard , am sincerely sorry for my   behavior  and am now seeking for your forgiveness, “he pleaded in front an estimated 6000 plus  gathering .

Kirinyaga Women Representative Wangui Ngirici  in a tet a tet  with the Interior PS Karanja  Kibicho at Kandongu Cattle Dip ,Mwea at meeting where her husband 'General'   Andrew Ngirici entered into a truce with the PS  yesterday 

Accompanied by his wife and area Woman Representative Wangui  Ngirici the ‘General’ said he has been living a life full of nightmares due to continued harassments and humiliation  by police whenever he organised a gathering to meant to help the locals .

“Am a man of peace and an ardent supporter of the Woman Representative who coincidentally is my wife and through whose political path I have followed with a clear aim and objective of helping our people especially the less fortunate in the society ,”he said

Kibicho who was present told Ngirici there were two things he could do to silence him if he so wished since he has the  capacity as interior PS  “but being one of the sons  of this great county I chose to seek for dialogue and not unleashing the police against you (Ngirici).

“Am  the  PS in-charge of Security and you all understand the magnitude of the powers this docket carries but since this  truce has been brokered , let’s work together for the benefit of our people, “he told the cheering crowd.

The PS said the government had received intelligence reports that some people were planning to disrupt the forthcoming Mashujaa Day Celebrations to be held at the Wanguru stadium.

“Now that we have buried the hatchet I will  now task you with naming and shaming those who had  such plans and to yell  at the them at every possible opportunity  and to ensure calm prevails before, during and after the Fete ,”Kibicho told the ‘ General’.

Kibicho further enumerated the many benefits the county will reap from hosting the celebrations which will be the last one under the Jubilee administration whose term ends on August 9 , next year .

He cited the ongoing construction of the ultra-modern Wanguru stadium where the celebrations will be held , the Kerugoya State Lodge whose works were also ongoing besides the many roads which the government was tarmacking in readiness for the fete .

Other projects being done in that regard include the improvement of the Karatina-Kutus road , electrification in  Kutus, Kerugoya and  Wanguru besides the mega Thiba dam which will be ready by the end of the year .

The PS  urged the locals  to show true love to the Head of State during  the celebrations by shunning away those who had ill motives to disrupt the historic moment of the nation .

Wangui  on the other hand claimed her husband  had been a victim of harassment after she declared her intent to vie for the local gubernatorial position come next year’s general elections .

She said her move to declare the interest was informed by a demand from the locals after realising her high leadership skills and result oriented politics .

The gubernatorial seat has also attracted the former Mwea MP Peter Gitau, current area Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri ,  Martha Karua , Joseph Ndathi and Bedan  Kagai  while the incumbent Anne Waiguru  is defending her seat hence the high stakes .
