You have no morals to lead the country- Raila
Azimio brigade has told Deputy President William Ruto to drop his presidential bid since he had no morals required of a leader .
Led by its presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga also dismissed Ruto’s running mate as a convicted criminal who should not be anywhere near public leadership.
Campaigning at the Kerugoya stadium in Kirinyaga County ahead of the August 9 general elections, Raila urged Kenyans to reject leaders with integrity issues.
He also said his main rival and UDA leader had no agenda for the country except mare political rhetoric.
Accompanied by his running mate Martha Karua , Azimio CEO Raphael Tuju , Agriculture CS Peter Munya among other leaders, the presidential contender assured Kenyans the high living standards will be brought down under his administration .
“Other than providing free education from Nursery school through to the University, for the children we have also a medical cover program as contained in our manifestos where medical care will be provided to all Kenyans ,” he said.
Karua on her part asked the local Jubilee and Narc-kenya gubernatorial candidates to sit at a round table and come up with one contender by this evening who will fly the Azimio frag .
“Since Jubilee and Narc-kenya parties are all in Azimio , we should have either Charles Kibiru or Muriithi Kagai steping aside and leave one candidate to battle it with the UDA one short of which we will be beaten flat down ,” she said.
She said she had constituted a committee of local elders whom she mandated to carry out the exercise and come up with one name by this evening while the one dropped will be considered for a state job.
Munya on the other promised to visit the county tomorrow morning to establish why area residents have not received the subsidised maize meal .
He made the promise after a hue and cry from the residents who had attended the campaign rally this morning.
They told Munya the Unga was nowhere in the local supermarkets despite the government’s promise that the commodity was available .
The CS said he will be finding out whey the commodity was missing yet the millers had been paid the necessary subsidy as agreed .
Others present were Peter Kenneth , Muranga’s Sabina Chege , Kirinyaga Central MP Munene Wambugu and Mwea’s Kabinga Wachira.
Gubernatorial running mates Peter Ndambiri of Jubilee and Narc-kenya’s Ndegwa Njiru .
