You must remain focused, Youth told
Youths wishing to seek for various elective positions during the forthcoming general elections must remain focused to the end or else lose this golden opportunity .
The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) while cautioning youths to avoid being swayed by various forces along the way said next year’s general elections were an opportunity to take up their rightful space in the national politics .
The NCCK’s Central Kenya Regional Chairman Isaac Njoroge admitted some Youths despite having what it takes to take up elective leadership there were high chances of such youths to be compromised and abandon the course halfway.
“ I urge you to stay on course regardless of the many obstacles that are along the way both internal and external for your tomorrow is today ,”Njoroge told the Youths .
Speaking during the closure of a three day sensitization seminar of securing elections dubbed ‘Vijana Twaweza’ at the Bethany House , Sagana in Kirinyaga County Njoroge said there were possibilities of Youths running for elective positions to be compromised with money to withdraw from the race by rich rivals .
Cautioned Njoroge “regardless of your financial strength you must remain committed to the course of change you so much desire for your tomorrow has come ,”.
The official who was responding to concerns by the Media that there were possibilities some Youths were likely to be compromised going by the past trend , said should this come to play , then it would be very unfortunate .
The participants who had been drawn from the entire region however made an assurance they would not be swayed by any wave be it monetary or otherwise until they accomplished their mission , come and after the general elections .
